Lions Bay relies on fundraising activities to maintain the level of service that we provide. Two of the main fundraising endeavors are: Firefighter Days, and the Whistler Blackcomb foundation grant.
Firefighter Days
Firefighter days is a one day celebration that takes place in September of each year and is one of the best attended festivities in the village.
Taking place at Lions Bay Beach we have live music, silent auction, raffles, BBQ, bake sale, bouncing castle, kid's combat challenge, and a live vehicle extrication demonstration.
In 2006 firefighter days raised $12000 that was put towards the purchase of a new Thermal Imaging Camera that will allow us to see in adverse conditions inside a structural fire.
One the ways we are able to raise money at this event is through our silent auction and raffle. Click here to see how you can help in this regard.
Whistler Blackcomb foundation
In 2009, Lions Bay Fire Rescue received a grant from the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation in the amount of $2,904.35, which was used to purchase new rope rescue equipment.
In 2005 Lions Bay Fire Rescue received a grant from the Whistler Blackcomb foundation in the amount of $12,500.
The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation www.whistlerblackcombfoundation.com is dedicated to the financial support of registered nonprofit organizations whose activities will provide benefit to the residents of the Sea to Sky Corridor. This money will be used to purchase a new 3-way Holmatro pump that will allow us to run three extrication tools at once, and will allow us to perform critical auto extrications safer and faster.
